Apr 17, 2010 Fix Corrupted Save Files Guide: PSP Articles/Tutorial




After several days Fixmypsp struggle to find a solution on how to fix PSP save game data, finally it is time to share my experience with all you guys. This guide will help you to repair corrupted or damaged because of several reasons. The problems existed after we upgrade the PSP system software. I admit, this tutorial quite confusing and complicated. Therefore, you need more concentration and effort. If you still have any problems, do not hesitate to contact me.


Requirement:




Examples of SAVE data contained in the root of memory stick>> PSP>> SAVEDATA ....


Tutorial:

* Note: To ensure no problems occur, do not put the save data which you want to repair inside the root of memory stick>> PSP>> SAVEDATA>> ......


Step 1

Please install FreeCheat plugins: Tutorial installing FreeCheat

Please install SaveDataE-D application: Tutorial installing SaveDataE-D



Step 2.

After the installing process is finished, we need to dump / extract key file from the new save data.

1) Start the game and before you create a new game save, you need to activate the Free cheat menu by pressing [NOTE] on your PSP. Select MEM Manager and enter.

2) Next, select SAVEDATE Manager and enter.






3) In SAVEDATE menu, select the Operate Mode and enter. Next, select Dump and enter. Exit the menu by pushing [X].

After that, create a new save game on the game.



Step 3

Later you have completed the process in Step 2, connect your computer memory stick.


1) The roof of your memory stick, you will find that there is a folder named with FreeCheat. Open the folder.








2) Then select SAVEDATA and open the folder.




4) You will find that there are 2 files as shown in the diagram overleaf. File inside the red circle is a key file. You need to rename the file by removing the dash symbol '-' and change the file format to.bin file by adding [.bin] at the end of its name.

5) This is the key file that was renamed.





Step 4

1) Cut the new Savefile that has been produced at the root of memory stick>> PSP>> >>... SAVEDATA and paste the file on your computer for a while.

2) Copy the corrupted Savefile that you want to fix and to paste it to the root of memory stick>> PSP>> SAVEDATA >>....




3) After that, copy the renamed key file and paste it in the root of memory stick>> PSP>> GAME>> sed>> gamekey >>.....


Step 5

After that, switch on PSP. On your XMB>> Game>> Memory Stick>> SED( SaveData) and enter.


1) Select the game saves that you want to repair (the text with red in color is the selected game saves) and presses the triangle button (/ _ \). Choose the top option as shown in the diagram and enter.



2) You will see a prompt as shown on the picture. Select yes to continue with this process. When finished, please exit this application.




Step 6

Connect Memory Stick to your computer.





1) At the root of your memory stick you will find .bin file as shown in the picture *.


2) Cut the corrupt SaveData ( was pasted previously) at the root of your memory stick>> PSP>> SAVEDATA >>....... and paste it on your computer.


3) Copy the new SaveData (that previously cut and pasted on your PC) and paste it on the root of memory stick>> PSP>> >>SAVEDATA.......

4) Make sure the new SaveData has the same label with the .bin file that located in the root of your PSP memory stick. If you find the different, you must rename the Save Data folder same as the '.bin file.




Step 7.

After that, switch on PSP. On your XMB>> Game>> Memory Stick>> SED( SaveData) and enter.

Select the game saves that you want to repair (the text with red in color is the selected game saves) and presses the triangle button (/ _ \). Choose the second option as shown in the diagram and enter.


2) You will see a prompt as shown on the picture. Select yes to continue with this process. When finished, please exit this application.
